The concept of a union is good, the worker have a voice and can work with the employer. The problem is the union leadership, they are for the most part corrupt. What started as a reasonable exchange to improve the working conditions has become a contest to extract as much of the assets of the business to be redistributed to the workers. Steel mills were stripped of their ability to modernize and compete, they closed. Jobs went away. The short term gains made long term unemployment. The auto workers have great pensions, great benefits. GM Chrysler bailed out and our economy put into a tail spin.#teaparty #TCOT http://amplify.com/u/bqwu3
I have been listening to the speeches from the Union Leaders in Wisconsin crowing that they are protecting the middle class. I am middle class, my friends are middle class and I have never needed a union to to protect me. When I was in college I had a job in a market, had to join a union and what I learned was most of the folks did the minimum that the union contract called for. No invention, no initiative just marking hours till their next promotion. #TCOT #TeaPary http://amplify.com/u/bqwjo

OK so listening to the budget debate I was trying to explain to my son how the politicians are using smoke and mirrors to justify their budget numbers.... I cam up with this. So you are renting and apartment or house and your lease is is up and your rent is going from 1000.00 to 1200 a month. You landlord comes to you an tells you he is giving you a 200.00 reduction in rent. The thing is your rent is not now 800.00 but is 1000.00. Yes he gave you a 200.00 reduction but not from what you are paying but from what you would be paying. So your great deal is not so great. Sounds Like the budget debate is Washington. No real cuts just word that sound good. http://amplify.com/u/bqjuw

Washington to Budget...

OK so listening to the budget debate I was trying to explain to my son how the politicians are using smoke and mirrors to justify their budget numbers....
I came up with this.
So you are renting an apartment or house and your lease says your rent is going from $1000.00 to $1200.00 a month.
You landlord comes to you an tells you he is giving you a $200.00 reduction in rent. The thing is your rent is not now $800.00 but is still $1000.00.
Yes he gave you a $200.00 reduction but not from what you are paying but from what you would be paying. So your great deal is not so great. Sounds like the budget debate is Washington.
No real cuts just words that sound good and the same old spending.
