Washington to Budget...

OK so listening to the budget debate I was trying to explain to my son how the politicians are using smoke and mirrors to justify their budget numbers.... 

I came up with this. 

So you are renting an apartment or house and your lease says your rent is going from $1000.00 to $1200.00 a month. 

You landlord comes to you an tells you he is giving you a $200.00 reduction in rent. The thing is your rent is not now $800.00 but is still $1000.00. 

Yes he gave you a $200.00 reduction but not from what you are paying but from what you would be paying. So your great deal is not so great. Sounds like the budget debate is Washington. 

No real cuts just words that sound good and the same old spending.
