Ok so who is the bailout really for?

Is it the Automakers or is for the unions representing the employees of the Automakers. Let think for a moment what is going on.

If the automakers go into chapter 11 bankruptcy then contracts and liabilities of automaker come under bankruptcy court scrutiny and will be adjusted downward.
